Saint Georges catholic church, Sen Jorj
Katolik Latin kilisesi, was first founded around III century destructed by
fire in 1660 and 1696. The reconstruction was partly financed by king Louis XV,
in 1731. It was belonging to different congregations up to Austrian one today
since 1882.
The Church of Saint
Peter and St. Paul (architect Gaspare Fossati) : Dominicans
established themselves in Galata in 13th century and built the church of St.
Paul at the foot of the hill (converted to Arab cami in 1475), then moved upper
hill in 1603, then church was rebuilt 5 times! A monastery and an Dominican
Study Institute is located in the same place.

Saint Benoit : Benedictine monastery established
in the district of Galata, founded under the tutelage of the Republic of Genoa,
under the name of Sainte-Marie de la Miséricorde from 1362 to 1427, then
under name of Saint-Benoît, affiliated to the Mont Cassin Congregation
from 1449/1450, the community ceased to exist in 1478, but a prosecutor
remained there until 1555. The old Saint-Benoît Monastery was occupied by
Dominicans from 1555 to 1560; by Franciscans from 1560 to 1583; then became the
Maison Saint-Benoît des Jésuites from 1583 to 1773, and finally the Maison
Saint-Benoît des Lazaristes up to today...Lycée
Saint-Benoît is inside the complex. The church was erected above an abandoned
Byzantine monastery...

oldest Catholic churches in the city. Arrived in 1626 by the Capuchins
install themselves inside the Palace of France (ambassy) in Pera. The actual church was destroy and rebuilt 4 times...
The Sainte-Marie-Draperis Catholic
church built in 1584 then was practically rebuilt by the Franciscans after the
fire of 1871 (architects Fossati), helped by Caliph Abdülhamit. Archives

entrance of the French embassy.
